September 4, 2018 – Wiring and cabling producer Southwire has acquired ProBuilt Professional Lighting, which manufactures illumination products for industrial and commercial applications, including construction job-site lighting (example pictured).

Currently based in Mundelein, Ill., ProBuilt—known for such brands as Wobblelight and Hang-a-light—will relocate to Carrolton, Ga., to become part of Southwire’s tools and assembled products business unit.

“Our mission is to make contractors’ lives easier,” says Norman Adkins, president of Southwire’s construction systems and solutions group. “The acquisition of ProBuilt strengthens this commitment.”
