Southwire upgrades surge protection for RVs
By Peter Saunders
February 7, 2019 – Southwire has upgraded its Surge Guard line of fully cUL-approved power protection products for recreational vehicles (RVs) with new features, including wireless communications, elevated ground protection and load-side open neutral protection.
“These products protect not only RVs, but also the electrical equipment they use inside,” says Bobby Raatz, Southwire’s director of sales for mobile power and electrical safety.
Surge Guard 44380 (for 30 A) and 44390 (50 A) feature fully enclosed receptacle covers to protect against environmental conditions. Surge Guard 34931 (30 A) and 34951 (pictured, 50 A), meanwhile, add communications options through their compatibility with Surge Guard 40301 wireless LCD.
All of the products are supported by a limited lifetime warranty and connected equipment coverage.
