Stelpro’s Ki thermostat uses Z-wave to control smart home
February 18, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur
February 18, 2016 – Stelpro has a new line of connected products for the smart home. The line’s first product, marketed under the name Ki, is the 4000W line voltage thermostat and Stepro notes it is manufactured entirely in Quebec. It’s also the first line voltage thermostat distributed on the North American market to use Z-Wave technology, the company claims.
The thermostat controls baseboards and convectors, uses wireless Z-Wave technology and requires a Z-Wave terminal that links the various devices and enables them to communicate with each other.
Stelpro notes Ki is the Japanese word for universal energy.
