July 23, 2013 – T3 Innovation is now shipping its dual-mode Arc Chaser cable tester and TDR, which is capable of finding faults (e.g. opens, shorts, arc faults) on energized cables up to 600V up to 12,000 feet. It can monitor live cables for intermittent conditions, capturing these events and reporting where and when they occur. Using Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometry (SSTDR), Arc Chaser promises accuracy to better than 1%. Arc Chaser features a colour, touchscreen that displays results in graphical or text format, and saves reports saves reports that can be transferred to PCs. The unit self-calibrates, says T3, and provides imperial or metric measurements.
