August 19, 2011 – TCP has announced what it’s calling a breakthrough in efficient halogen lamp technology. Using exclusive PIRL technology, its new line of lamps claim to provide better energy efficiency than comparable incandescent lamps, plus doubles the operational life. In PIRL technology, the quartz halogen lamp capsule is specially prepared using unique microscopic reflective coating, which increases lamp efficiency by driving waste infrared energy back into the capsule filament, explains TCP. Available first in a 50-watt=100-watt A-Lamp version (1600 lumens output), the lamps offer clean, crisp natural light, while using only half the energy of traditional incandescent lamps, it boasts.
