TCP Inc. introduced a dimmable CFL product line incorporating a patent-pending ballast design featuring proprietary NXP GreenChip power management IC chip technology. This design approach, dubbed TruDim technology, results in a CFL with smoother full-range dimming performance, boasts TCP, from 100% to 1%. The company further boasts TruDim CFLs achieve full brightness over 75% faster than comparable products. TCP’s digital InstaBright technology boosts the CFLs’ power briefly to increase initial lumen output, then adjusts to normal output levels after 30-45 seconds. TruDim enables low-dimming level starting capability, reducing the need to reset the dimmer to full-on every time the lights are turned on. And IC-chip ballast control maintains low dim level lamp lumen output stability. These CFLs are rated to 10,000 hours under normal use. The TruDim CFL will initially be offered in several lamp styles in a variety of temperatures.
