TE Connectivity’s four- and eight-position strain relief covers for Micro Mate-N-Lok

November 28, 2013 | By Alyssa Dalton

November 28, 2013 – TE Connectivity has announced its four- and eight-position strain relief covers for the Micro Mate-N-Lok connector system, which snap on and provide cable assembly retention capability that meets IEC 60598-1 cable retention requirements.

The strain relief covers are suitable for wire-to-wire (free-hanging) and wire-to-board cable assemblies, and offer a 60N cable retention, UL94V flammability rating and a -20C to 85C operation range. The two-piece strain relief covers are applied without screws or tools to provide an aesthetically functional strain relief for jacketed cable assemblies. As an additional feature, the four- and eight-position strain relief covers provide latch protection to help minimize inadvertent unmating of the connectors and rounded corners that contribute to a snag-resistant cable assembly, says the company.
