TE releases hot-melt Raychem S1260 tape for PTFE wire

January 6, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

January 6, 2016 – TE Connectivity has released new Raychem S1260 hot-melt tape adhesive for high-temperature wire and cable repairs. The S1260 tape uses an environmentally resistant modified fluoropolymer for sealing high-temperature heat-shrink components to backshells, and is well suited for power cables with fluoropolymer and fluoroelastomer insulations and jackets, according to TE.

The fluid-resistant tape adheres to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) insulation and may be used to repair high-temperature power cables, TE says. The tape cures with a heat gun and measures 3/4-in. wide.
