Tempo Industries replaces Series 6000 LED linear lighting with new cast zinc-alloy housing
August 22, 2011 | By Alyssa Dalton
August 22, 2011 – Tempo Industries has re-tooled its existing Series 6000 linkable LED linear lighting and replaced its cast aluminum articulated housing with a more environmentally-sound die-cast zinc alloy, it says. According to Tempo Industries, zinc alloy requires about one-third less energy to process from raw materials than aluminum so its lower melting point requires less energy in casting and because it flows more readily into casting dies, resulting thinner housing walls use less material. The series employs genuine Cree LEDs that deliver 450 lumens per foot or greater, 62 lumens per watt or greater, depending on emitter configuration, says the company.
