Terex redesigns XT Pro tree trimmer trucks

August 6, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

August 6, 2014 – The redesigned Terex XT Pro Series tree trimmer trucks (three models) boast a host of new features, says the company, including a longitudinal hydraulic lift option to provide up to 75 ft of working height, and upper boom articulation of 250º and 125º of lower boom articulation to further extend these aerial devices’ capabilities.

The trucks feature round pedestals for easier access to bearing bolts, a platform capacity of up to 400 lb to accommodate one person plus tools, and an elbow cylinder that is fully retracted when stored, decreasing exposure to the elements. The longitudinal lift on these models is lighter and shorter than its predecessors, says Terex, and the new design accommodates an 11-ft chipbox. The XT Pro’s control system senses what hydraulic flow is needed to move the boom to a new position without having to disengage the tool circuit, which allows the operator to concentrate on the task without having to manually manage hydraulic flow between the controls and tools.
