August 5, 2016 – “This summer, lamps & luminaires will advance”. That’s the promise displayed on the banner we saw upon entering an exclusive media event hosted by Sylvania to introduce us to its new company name: LEDvance.

Hosted at the Design Exchange in downtown Toronto, we were among the first to see new Sylvania lighting products for the electrical market, of which there are many. In fact, there seems to be a lighting solution for just about any conceivable application, including:

troffer retrofit kits, retrofit door kits, canopy, edge-lit panels, vapour-tight, high-bay and wallpack, A-line and reflector, new vintage style, contractor series, high-lumen lamps, HO PAR lamps and—one of my favourites—the Ultra LED ceiling light, which quickly converts a junky closet or basement socket into a sleek ceiling light.
