October 1, 2018 – Effective today, Thomas & Betts (T&B), which designs and manufactures electrical connectors and components, has been rebranded as ABB Installation Products.
The company will continue to market Thomas & Betts product brands in Canada, including Steel City, Iberville, Star Teck, Color-Keyed and Ty-Rap. The realignment reflects ABB’s ownership of Thomas & Betts over the past six years and is part of the parent company’s ‘next level’ strategy, along with 19 other rebrandings around the globe.
“Aligning Thomas & Betts under the ABB brand, while keeping the product names customers know and trust, helps us become leaner and more market-focused,” says Nathalie Pilon, president of ABB Canada. “ABB offers a combined 250 years of innovation and expertise of keeping the world’s electricity flowing.”
“A unified ABB retains the best of Thomas & Betts,” says Alain Quintal, local business unit manager, “including its authentic and trusted products, valued employees and commitment to local manufacturing in the communities we proudly serve. Our Canadian customers will get the best of both worlds.”
