Burndy reveals cold seal splice kits, types CSB and CJS

February 24, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

February 24, 2016 – Burndy has introduced new cold seal splice kits, types CSB and CSJ. CSB is for low voltage (up to 15kV) conductor only whereas the CSJ kits include mastic seal for JCN cable – low & medium voltage (up to 35kV) conductor.

The CSB and CSJ series of products are made of specially formulated silicone rubber, Burndy says, offering insulation and moisture-proof sealing for in-line cable connector systems or elbow to cable jacket applications.

Generally used to insulate wires, connections, joints, and terminals in electrical work, the rubber sleeves are factory expanded and held over a removable plastic rip core housing. The kits feature UV resistance and thermal stability and are also resistant to fungus, ozone, alkalies, and acids, according to the company.
