Hilti’s cut-off tool AG 500-A18 now with 5.2Ah battery

January 19, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

January 19, 2016 – Hilti says the third generation of its cordless cut-off tool AG 500-A18 has increased performance due to a 5.2 Ah battery and improved electronics, “which means more efficiency and power during grinding applications.”

It features a keyless quick-change flange and a brushless motor for up to three times longer lifetime—no commutator to damage and no carbon brushes to change, Hilti says. It also comes equipped with an electronic brake that stops the disc within 1 sec, the company claims, and active torque control.

This 18V tool can cut or grind cast iron pipes, steel, strut, threaded rods, sheet metal and stainless steel, according to Hilti, and “is the only tool of its kind that is covered for wear and tear for two years”.
