Ideal launches hand tool program with WireMan linesman’s pliers

July 13, 2015 | By Anthony Capkun

July 14, 2015 – Ideal Electrical just announced the launch of WireMan linesman’s pliers that, according to the company, is the first of many tools to be introduced under the new hand tool program as Ideal begins merging its WireMan and Laser Edge lines into one.

The new pliers employ Smart-Grip technology, which promises handles that resist perspiration, water, oil and chemicals. “The precision-machined cutting blade design requires 7% less hand force to cut [uninsulated and insulated 10AWG solid copper wire] compared to competing pliers,” boasted Nick Shkordoff, group VP and GM of Ideal Electrical, “and it’s diamond-pattern, cross-hatched nose grabs wire without damage—even to fine strands.” The Smart-Grip handle ends are colour-coded and have FastFinder letter icons for quick identification.
