Ridgid introduces 12-ton manual hydraulic crimp tool (RE 12-M)

September 12, 2016 | By Renée Francoeur

September 12, 2016 – Ridgid says its RE 12-M manual hydraulic crimp tool—used for wire termination and grounding applications to crimp compression lugs and connectors onto copper, aluminum and ACSR wire and grounding rods—is light and easy to use.

The C-shaped head with 1.65-in. jaw opening is large enough for compression applications up to 1000 MCM and has a 330-degree head rotation.

The company’s RapidAdvance system on the RE 12-M engages with the lug quicker to speed up the crimping process, too, Ridgid notes. It also claims only two pumps are required to engage even the smallest lug size.

The tool comes with a removable head stand attachment and carrying case with space to hold up to 13 crimp dies.
