TP-Link Pharos CPE510 for long-range Wi-Fi

August 19, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

August 19, 2014 – Networking product provider TP-Link has designed the 802.11a/n Wi-Fi compatible Pharos CPE510 outdoor wireless access point—a 5GHz 300Mbps 13dBi CPE (Customer Premises Equipment)—for point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and outdoor Wi-Fi coverage applications.

Long distance wireless data transmission of over 15km can be achieved, says TP-Link. According to the company, the CPE510 will greatly appeal to Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) for point-to-multipoint link communications, when extending coverage across a wide geographic area to customers. Boasting an outdoor weatherproof enclosure and industrial-level hardware design, the CPE510 is suitable for temperatures ranging -30C to 70C. As well, it features up to 15KV ESD (Electrostatic Discharges) and 6000V lightning protection.
