November 15, 2012 – BC Hydro tells us a 96-wheeled truck is transporting a 5-m high, 106-tonne transformer to Mica Dam. The transformer is one of four that travelled across the country on CP Rail from Quebec to Revelstoke.

The final leg is by truck from Revelstoke to Mica. The transformers will convert the electricity produced by the new generating units being installed at Mica Generating Station to a transmission voltage of 500kV.
