SaskPower investing $3.5 million in Melfort-Hudson Bay area

December 1, 2016 – SaskPower is revamping the electrical system in the south area of Saskatchewan currently, including: Melfort, Hudson Bay, Tisdale, Weldon, Naicam, Pathlow and surrounding areas.

So far in 2016, residential and commercial customers in the area have made 66 new connection or reconstruction requests. This is on top of SaskPower’s $3.5 million regional investment, the utility says.

Regional work includes: relocating and upgrading overhead powerlines out of the middle of farmers’ fields, upgrading or replacing electrical devices that assist field technicians in troubleshooting, upgrading or replacing electrical devices that protect the system’s powerlines, and trimming trees near the lines.
