Hitachi ABB Power Grids TXpert ecosystem, October 2020

October 18, 2020 – Hitachi ABB Power Grids’ TXpert ecosystem (a suite of products, software, services and solutions) is designed for “data-driven intelligence” in the operation and maintenance of transformers and power grids, and can integrate with both new and existing digital equipment from other manufacturers.

According to CIGRE, the top three locations of faults in transformers are windings, tap-changers and bushings, and TXpert provides options for mitigating all of these.

At the heart of the ecosystem is the TXpert Hub: a data monitoring and diagnostics device that also provides connectivity. Designed as an open platform, it is capable of integrating multiple sets of data from TXpert-ready sensors from diverse manufacturers, simplifying the digitalization of transformers in compliance with modern communication and cybersecurity standards. Data and intelligence from the TXpert Hub can be accessed locally and, when required, from the cloud.

TXpert-enabled transformers can be augmented with asset performance management solutions from Hitachi ABB Power Grids. As an enterprise-level software solution, the APM can be used for individual, multiple or large fleets of transformers.

The data generated by TXpert opens the door to associated remote and advanced services, which can provide virtual site management, life assessments, robotic inspections and transformer care service agreements.
