UL offers electrical field evaluation program in Canada
May 23, 2019 By Peter Saunders

May 23, 2019 – Underwriters Laboratories (UL) has designed a Canadian field evaluation program for manufacturers, importers and end-users of ‘one-of-a-kind’ electrical equipment, along with electrical products and equipment produced in only limited quantities.
UL claims its team can arrive on-site within 24 hours to work with the client and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), providing technical support and helping meet deadlines. Once the equipment is shown to meet requirements, it can carry the UL Canada (ULC) field evaluation label, as trusted by Canadian electrical authorities.
Among the equipment eligible for such evaluation are industrial control panels (ICPs), distribution generation equipment, luminaires, heating and cooling equipment, switchboards, robotic equipment, panelboards, automated manufacturing equipment, motor control centres, commercial food-service equipment, signs and display cabinets.
Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) members who start a project with UL before Sept. 1, 2019, will receive a 15% discount.
