Universal Lighting Technologies now offers a new online eHID (Electronic High Intensity Discharge) course at its e-Learning centre, with subjects covering a history of eHID technology, an analysis of its performance and benefits, and a review of common applications. It claims the eHID ballasts can significantly reduce energy use and monthly operating costs in a broad range of applications such as warehouses, big-box retail stores, factories, manufacturing facilities, schools, and parking lots. In addition, it says the Vossloh-Schwabe line of eHID ballasts are ideal for metal halide lamps ranging from 20W to 210W, with energy savings up to 17 percent compared to magnetic HID ballasts.
