Aug. 20, 2019 – Leviton is expanding its Lev-Lok line of modular wiring devices to help meet the demand for Universal Serial Bus (USB) charging in new buildings’ electrical distribution systems.

In the commercial construction sector, electrical contractors are challenged to meet both today’s and tomorrow’s technological requirements. With that in mind, Leviton’s new tamper-resistant USB receptacles are available in a variety of configurations, including Type A/A and A/C ports, 15- and 20-A, commercial specification-grade and heavy-duty hospital-grade and a variety of colours. All are designed as pre-wired twist-and-lock modules, for reportedly three times faster installation than traditional wiring.

The Type A/A USB ports deliver a combined total of 3.6-A charging current and 18 W or more of power, while the Type A/C ports deliver a combined total of 5.1-A charging current and 25 W or more of power, allowing users to charge their devices faster.
