February 13, 2013 – Extron’s Video Data Rate & Timing Calculator is an online tool designed to assist you during the system design phase, as well as the installation and setup phases. This calculator allows you to generate a printable diagram showing the timing parameters, video data rate and aspect ratio based on a selected standard, refresh rate, resolution and colour depth. Information is displayed as both a diagram and a table. In the design phase, the calculator helps you to determine the aspect ratio required by a source or display. It can also be used to identify the maximum digital data rate that must be supported by cables, scalers or other system components. During installation and setup, the generated diagram is a handy reference for configuring a scaler, as it provides the timing details of many popular video formats.
