August 7, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

August 7, 2014 – Eaton has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging station product offering with its prewire, cord-connected EV charging station that includes a Cooper NEMA 6-50 receptacle, plug, and weatherproof cover in the box.

The upgraded SAETMJ1772 cordset features a “much more flexible” cable, making it easier to wrap up after charging, says Eaton. Available in 3.8kW or 7.2kW at 240V, the unit is compatible with the Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius, Ford Focus, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Toyota RAV4, Honda Fit, Honda Accord PHEV, Ford C-Max Energi, Smart ED, Chevy Spark, Fiat 500e, and others. It comes complete with a black lid and black operator interface.
