VIDEO – Emission-free, electrified PTO at The Work Truck Show 2012
March 10, 2012 | By Anthony Capkun
While at NTEA’s Work Truck Show 2012, we stumbled upon Mark Baer of Altec, who taught us about JEMS, an acronym of Jobsite Energy Management System.
The JEMS system, by design, completely eliminates idle-time at the jobsite. As such, jobsite fuel consumption is zero; tailpipe emissions are also zero; operating noise levels are reduced and, in most cases, the impact on payload is minor. This should be of great interest to utility truck fleet managers, as well as electrical contractors who do a lot of boom work (i.e. streetlighting and signage).
