VST wins licensing for seismic cable bracing system line

November 2, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

November 2, 2015 – Vibration and Seismic Technologies (VST) says it has been awarded an exclusive license to manufacture and market the seismic wire rope/cable bracing products previously manufactured by Loos & Co. The product line is used to brace a range of non-structural building components, including electrical products such as cable tray, conduit, suspended transformers and much more. It is the only cable bracing line that meets all current building codes and standards, according to VST.

The product line was developed by Dan Duggan Sr. and Mike Werner of Duggan-Werner Inc., the company that has granted the license to VST.

All VST seismic bracing products are UL listed and comply with the International Building Code and its referenced standards.

According to VST, the company’s cable bracing system can save electrical contractors time, money and effort compared to bracing with strut or pipe. And because the cable weighs only a small fraction of strut or pipe, the system can also drastically reduce shipping costs, it noted.

VST said it will sell its bracing products through select original equipment manufacturers, as well as through manufacturer’s representatives and distributors.
