WARNING: Communications cable sold online at MCM Electronics may pose fire hazard (15PN-04)

March 16, 2015 – UL has issued a warning that a communications cable type CMR may be potentially hazardous as it does not comply with UL’s safety standards and are not authorized to bear the UL Mark for the United States or Canada.

The cable does not meet the flammability requirements of the standard, which may cause an increased risk of fire, said UL.

The manufacturer and date of manufacture is unknown but the cable was sold at online at MCM Electronics and may have been sold at other locations.
