WARNING: Counterfeit CSA Mark on DSPM emergency lighting inverters

August 21, 2014 – CSA Group is notifying consumers and retailers that certain Digital Signal Power Manufacturing (DSPM Inc.) brand emergency lighting inverters display counterfeit CSA Group Canada and US Certification Marks and/or file numbers.
The affected units are model Defender Plus, Cobra 3 and Defender 3. These units have not been tested and evaluated by CSA Group to the applicable standard for safety and performance for Canada or the United States.
Manufactured by DSPM Inc. of Ontario, Calif., the products display a counterfeit CSA Mark and/or CSA File number 220828 on the packaging and/or on the unit label. The Defender 3 displays CSA File number 220828 as shown in the photo.
There have been no reports of damage, fire or injury so far. The identified units were found in various public works facilities in the states of Michigan and Nevada, and for sale online at www.dspmanufacturing.com.
Consumers with the affected models should discontinue use of the product and contact their retailer, point-of-sale or distributor.
