May 16, 2013 – UL is notifying consumers and retailers that the compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) identified below bears a counterfeit UL Mark for Canada and the United States. It has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate standards for safety.

There is no model number on the product. The UL Mark is missing the following required markings:

• The word “LISTED”
• UL Control Number (four alpha-numeric characters)
• The product identifier: “Self-ballasted Lamp” or “Lamp Adapter”

As with any suspect product, stop using it immediately.
