March 30, 2013 – UL is warning consumers, retailers and manufacturers that a medium base lampholder bears a counterfeit UL mark for Canada and the United States. It has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate standards for safety. It is unknown whether this lampholder complies with UL safety requirements.

The medium base lampholder with the counterfeit UL mark is similar to the UL listed lampholder, says UL, but the authorized lampholder is marked with the model number “RS-1908A”. The lampholder marked with a counterfeit mark does not provide the required model designation on the lampholder body.

Besides the counterfeit mark, the lampholder reads:

LISTED     RUI CHENG     250V     660W
