October 3, 2016 – Users are being cautioned about certain Shenzhen Ledsion Lighting Technology Co. (Enviro-Light Solutions branded) self-ballasted T8 LED tubes that bear unauthorized Intertek certification marks for Canada and the United States. Intertek has not evaluated the products and it is not known if they comply with any safety requirements.

Intertek says at least 14,000 products, which are described as “compatible 4FT 18W” and “18 W T8 Tube DIM”, are involved. The counterfeit ETL mark is either located adjacent to the date code, adjacent to control number 4007161 or has no control number at all.

It is not known how many, if any, products made their way into Canada.
