WARNING: Unauthorized Intertek certification document for Blowtherm Spa fixtures

December 9, 2016 – Intertek has issued a warning for an Authorization to Mark (ATM) certification document and “paint spray” lighting fixture products, both of which are known to be in the marketplace bearing unauthorized ETL certification marks for Canada. The unauthorized products have not been evaluated by Intertek, and it is not known whether they comply with any safety requirements.

The products are manufactured by Blowtherm Spa and described as “paint spray” area lighting fixtures for use in hazardous locations. Models include:

LF-4-120, LF-4-277, LF-4-347, LF-6-120, LF-6-277, LF-6-347, 20013-1 and Extra L4-32-120.

An unauthorized cETLus mark and control number 3052925 can be found on the product, identifying it is certified to UL 844 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 137 M91.

It is not known how many products are in Canada.

Intertek notes there are no Blowtherm Spa “paint spray” area lighting fixtures in its listings, and warns other unauthorized model numbers may also exist.
