WARNING: Potentially hazardous A21 LED lamp (release 16PN-09)

June 16, 2016 – UL has issued a warning that Polaroid LED A21 lamps, manufactured prior to August 23, 2015, are carrying an unauthorized UL mark and may pose a shock hazard. The lamp does not comply with UL safety requirements, UL says, and is not authorized to bear the mark for the Canada or the United States.

The lamp’s housing may crack, UL warns, posing the potential shock hazard. The product’s model number is PLOA21-100.1600.20.2D and was manufactured by Yuyao Luming Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd. from May 2015 to August 2015.

Approximately 60,000 units are thought to be involved, according to UL. It is not known how many, if any, lamps made their way into Canada.
