April 18, 2014 | By Anthony Capkun

April 17, 2014 – Through its subsidiary Canadian Nuclear Partners (CNP), Ontario Power Generation Inc. (OPG) and Westinghouse Electric Co. (a group company of Toshiba Corp.) have agreed to work together on a range of nuclear projects globally, including refurbishment, maintenance and outage services, decommissioning and remediation of existing nuclear power plants, and new nuclear power plants.

“We anticipate that OPG’s expertise in plant maintenance, upgrades and refurbishments will be well augmented by the service offerings and global experience of Westinghouse,” noted Tom Mitchell, OPG president and CEO.

Canadian Nuclear Partners explores new business lines and opportunities both inside and outside of Ontario. “Through this relationship, CNP will leverage OPG’s existing expertise and grow revenues for the benefit of Ontarians,” said Pierre Tremblay, CNP president.
