Wieland Electric’s samosPro Compact controller

September 8, 2016 – Wieland Electric has developed the next generation of its samosPro programmable safety controller, the samosPro Compact. With a width of 45mm, the module simplifies safety solutions, while controlling safety functions for a wide variety of industrial applications, according to Wieland. It is also complemented by a free programming tool, samosPlan5+.

The compact module “packs a punch”, Wieland says, with 16 safe inputs, four safe outputs and four configurable safe inputs/outputs. A library of certified function blocks is also available for programming the system using samosPlan5+.



The samosPro Compact’s integrated USB and ethernet interfaces enable system access at any time and the online diagnostics and system logbook integrated into the Plan5+ tool provides user support for remote maintenance of the system.



The module meets standards SIL CL 3 according to EN 62061 and PL e / category 4 according to EN ISO 13849-1. It is also cUL certified.
