Beat the parking lot freeze with Vantera’s IP3 pedestal

November 13, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

November 13, 2015 – Parking lots in cold climates often need to provide electrical power for block heaters to prevent freezing in extreme weather and Vantera Incorporated says it has just the thing for this winter: the IP3 Pedestal.

The IP3 anodized aluminum tower resists rust, corrosion and extreme weather while providing a uniform appearance, the company notes, as the mounting system allows the installers to use laser-aligning tools to place pedestals to exacting standards.

The pedestal integrates with Vantera’s intelligent parking lot controller, the M210, which comes factory programmed to reduce energy usage based on temperature and wind chill. The pedestal comes with a choice of a 15-amp or 20-amp rated receptacle.

The pedestal is also a sliding enclosure that lets you access all the connections and you can lock it to prevent unauthorized entry.

Other features include:
• Universal mounting rings that fit standard 6-in. and 7-in. grid mounts,
• Single or dual outlet receptacles,
• Models available in 15 in. and 29 in. sizes,
• 5.5 Inches wide by 5.87 inches deep.

The IP3 can pay for itself in just one year if used with the optional IPLC M210 energy controller, Vantera says. The company also provides an online widget to calculate your possible savings before you commit to the pedestal and controller.
