June 18, 2019 – In Gravenhurst, Ont., Dura-Line manufactures PowerGuard high-density polyethylene (HDPE) conduit for low- and high-voltage cables, meeting CSA C22.2 standards for electrical use.

Unlike polyvinyl chloride (PVC) conduit, PowerGuard ships in reels comprising thousands of feet in length, allowing for continuous installation. By way of example, a reel of 2-in. Powerguard holds up to 3,281 feet, whereas the same amount of PVC 2-in. conduit would require more than 300 couplers and 10-ft sticks of pipe.

HDPE conduit also resists brittleness and maintains flexibility when navigating around obstructions in the ground, rather than requiring manufactured bends, and it withstands low-temperature impact better than other materials when the ground shifts or heaves. Options include pre-installed Bull-Line pull tape or cable.
