VitaLink MC fire safety cables pass circuit integrity to ULC-S-139

September 24, 2015 | By Anthony Capkun

September 24, 2015 – VitaLink (a business unit of RSCC Wire & Cable) reports that its MC (metal-clad) cables pass the circuit integrity test in accordance with ULC-S-139, and are now ULC listed as being protected against exposure to fire for a period of 2 hours with hose stream.

All VitaLink Type MC/RC90 are marked ULC S-139, and can be used in installations where the protection of conductors against exposure to fire is mandated by Article 3.2.7.10 of the National Building Code of Canada, as well as by provincial/territorial building codes or municipal building bylaws. With VitaLink MC/RC90 cables, there is no need for installing additional offsets or supports within the riser. The cables are designed with fire safety technology plus additional support between the conductors and the armour to prevent cable pull-out during long vertical installations.

VitaLink has named Texcan as an Authorized Stocking Distributor for these products for Canada (and Cerco for the Province of Quebec). For more information, visit the website or contact Ernie Gagnon at ernie.gagnon@r-scc.com or 780-983-6347.
