In an effort to help households manage their seasonal electricity use, Schneider Electric has launched Wiser Energy. The integrated monitoring system for residences allows users to track and monitor energy activity and use to provide real-time data through an app for homeowners.

“Canadians should be able to make smart decisions about their energy use, particularly as seasons change and usage increases,” says Adrian Thomas, vice president of home and distribution, Schneider Electric Canada.

Wiser Energy can help residents identify extra electricity consumption, understand how much energy is being used by various appliances, and provides users with peace of mind when leaving the house, as electricity use is being monitored with instant alerts and customizable notifications.

According to the company, the product easily connects to a residential electrical panel and Wi-Fi network. Over time, the system is designed to learn about a home to identify appliances and energy use patterns.

Wiser Energy is powered by the Sense app, which uses intelligent home energy technology to interpret the power usage and activity of devices in the home. Wiser Energy is available online through Home Depot.
