November 14, 2018 – Schneider Electric Canada has launched the Wiser Energy system to offer real-time monitoring of residential energy use, so homeowners can better control their electrical consumption and maximize their savings.

The integrated system tracks energy consumption by home appliances and its user interface provides notifications to the homeowner. A connected digital application allows the information to be viewed from anywhere.

Wiser Energy uses ‘big data’ algorithms to identify various devices throughout a home. Users can then set custom alerts for these appliances, so they are notified if anything unusual happens and when a devices turns on or off. Homeowners adding solar panels for localized energy provision, in particular, can benefit from the monitoring capabilities by measuring their return on investment (ROI).

The system will be available soon from Schneider Electric distributors and retailers, online and through a new partnership with Sense Labs. It can be installed in any home’s electrical panel.
