World premier of 3rd-generation Mercedes-Benz Sprinter

February 6, 2018 | By Anthony Capkun

February 6, 2018 – The 3rd-generation Sprinter made its debut earlier today, and will be available in Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle centres and Van ProCenters (U.S. market) by the end of the year, while the eSprinter will enter the market in 2019 (U.S. availability to be announced).

“Comprehensive internet connectivity is one of the most important new features” of the new Sprinter, says Mercedes-Benz, all while promising “maximum cost-effectiveness” thanks to its lower total operating costs and customer-oriented features.

The networked services of Mercedes PRO connect combined with new multimedia systems provide the basis for all logistical and transport requirements for both large and small fleets. Mercedes PRO enables assignments to be managed online, and vehicle information (e.g. location, fuel level or maintenance intervals) to be retrieved in near real time.

The Sprinter is more versatile than ever, boasts M-B, bringing the potential total to more than 1700 different configurations worldwide, reflecting both sector-specific requirements and different customer segments.

M-B Vans says it has also raised the Sprinter segment to a new level of safety features, including a self-cleaning rear-view camera in the rear-view mirror, a 360º-view parking camera system, and a rain sensor with an integrated Wet Wiper system for optimum visibility.
