June 17, 2016 – AD, a contractor and industrial products wholesale buying group, hosted the AD energyFORCE Summit in Raleigh, N.C. for its electrical members and supplier partners who have a focus and commitment to energy solutions in their marketing and overall business plans. The event takes its name from AD’s sister company, supplyFORCE, which helps independent distributors secure and jointly service large MRO contracts.

AD announced a 30-day challenge at the summit to encourage their members to implement product learning opportunities across their organizations, as the main focus of the event was education on AD supplier partners’ “Peak” products, which are “energy focused and have sales growth potential”.

In addition to networking opportunities, learning tracks, and one-on-one tabletop sessions, the event also included a panel discussion with experts from Shealy Electrical Wholesalers (West Columbia, S.C.), Kendall Electric (Portage, Mich.), and Werner Electric Supply Co. (Cottage Grove, Minn.) on lighting, switchgear, automation and control, and energy generation topics.

“Most of our energy solutions specialists are averaging 30 plus open projects at any given time. One of the key summit takeaways for me was the learning track on Evaluating an Energy Opportunity. Too many times we find ourselves investing time into ‘black hole’ projects, and time is money,” said one summit attendee, Ryan Ramsby, who is the manager of energy solutions at State Electric Supply Company (Huntington, W.Va.).
