ADC files lawsuit against AFL

June 16, 2008 | By Alyssa Dalton

ADC has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota against AFL Telecommunications LLC, asserting that AFL is infringing upon several of its patents relating to fiber distribution hubs used in ADC’s Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) product line.

ADC
is seeking damages and an injunction to prevent the sale of AFL’s fiber
distribution hubs and splitter modules that incorporate one or more of
ADC’s patented features.

“With
more than 5000 issued and pending patents worldwide, ADC’s intellectual
property is one of our core assets,” said Jack Field, ADC’s
vice-president of Carrier Solutions. “As such, we are strongly
committed to protecting the company’s technology investments by
enforcing its patent rights.”
