CanREA’s 2025 “Go Solar Guide” helps Canadians navigate residential installations
March 31, 2025 | By Anthony Capkun

March 31, 2025 – As it continues to encourage Canadians to consider residential solar installations, the Canadian Renewable Energy Association published the 2025 edition of its annual “Go Solar Guide”.
Available online, the free resource covers important information for homeowners deciding to pursue solar, such as determining their solar potential, net metering, incentive programs, financing their installation, questions to ask their installer, and more.
“CanREA is proud to produce an annual consumer guide containing everything homeowners and small business owners need to know when planning their solar installation projects,” said CanREA’s Phil McKay. “This is the go-to resource for Canadians looking to install solar on their property.”
In the past five years, Canadians installed more than 600 MW of solar at their residences and small businesses. There are now nearly 96,000 onsite solar energy installations across the country.
“In addition to the environmental benefits, [a solar energy installation] increases a family’s energy independence and saves them money on their utility bills,” McKay added.
