September 10, 2015 | By Renée Francoeur

September 10, 2015 – Clean Energy Canada salutes five citizens who have shown “exemplary leadership” in working to reduce fossil fuel reliance and accelerate Canada’s shift to a “clean-energy” economy.

Charlotte Argue, Ron Ditzy, Christopher Huskilson, Meredith Smith and Annette Verschuren have been named the 2015 Clean Energy Champions by the organization.

Argue is the climate change and air quality program assistant manger in Vancouver for the non-profit Fraser Basin Council. Dizy is managing director of the MaRS Advanced Energy Centre, and Huskilson is president and CEO of Nova Scotia-based Emera, an energy services company. Smith, 29, is an assistant construction manager with Surespan Wind Energy Services, a Canadian installer and servicer of turbines, and Verschuren is CEO of NRStor, which owns, operates and develops energy-storage projects.

The winners will be profiled in the organization’s upcoming Tracking the Revolution – Canada 2015 report, a companion to the global report released in July 2015.
