Cooper’s Exceder LED sounder line meets NFPA 72, 720 for sleeping areas

June 19, 2014 | By Alyssa Dalton

June 19, 2014 – Eaton’s Cooper Notification business has announced the Wheelock Exceder LED low frequency sounder line, designed to meet both the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) fire alarm and carbon monoxide 520 Hz code requirements for sleeping areas.

Meeting NFPA 72 and NFPA 720, the device features two sound patterns, T3 for fire detection and T4 for carbon monoxide. The sounder strobes utilize a LED as the light source, resulting in energy efficiency that enables material and system cost savings, allowing for a greater number of appliances on the notification appliance circuit and fewer power supplies, says the company. All strobe models include a 110 candela setting.
