November 23, 2023 – Eaton aims to help homeowners navigate new electrification technologies via the Brightlayer Home app and Wi-Fi wiring devices that, combined, provide homeowners with more options to view, manage, and control energy usage based on their preferences and sustainability goals.

Brightlayer Home is the interface to Eaton’s Wi-Fi smart technologies, allowing users to view power use for connected appliances and control connected devices remotely. (Eaton says its portfolio of Wi-Fi devices are also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home.)

“We prioritize interoperability to ensure Eaton devices are compatible with leading smart home systems, and introduced Brightlayer Home to streamline the interface for managing energy throughout the home,” said Paul Ryan, Eaton.

After a qualified electrician has installed Eaton’s smart devices, Brightlayer Home walks the homeowner through the setup, where users choose the devices to be connected, such as breakers, switches, dimmers, receptacles, or fan speed controllers.
