January 28, 2021 – “This year’s theme for EDIST 2021 was ‘The Power of Resiliency’ because, in these extraordinary times, utilities continued to deliver safe and reliable electricity,” says Teresa Sarkesian, president & CEO of the Electricity Distributors Association.

As one of EDA’s largest events in regular years, the virtual EDIST (Electricity, Distribution, Information Systems, Technology) can still be hailed as a success, drawing almost 400 participants.

“At EDIST, we were able to bring both utilities and innovation together with a broad range of electrification topics around electric vehicles, grid technology, cyber security and unique utility services and partnerships—all demonstrating that Ontario’s local hydro utilities are innovating for the customers they serve,” added Sarkesian.

The conference included over 23 sessions, 43 industry experts, 50 exhibitors, keynote speaker Andy Masters, and speed networking.

“We also included some fun activities, including a scavenger hunt, leaderboard challenge, prize give-a-ways, a Zoom social and jam session, as well as a live photo mosaic where attendees contributed images to create a virtual collage of the event,” added EDA.

The association extends a special Thank You to its sponsors whose contributions “made this virtual event an outstanding success”.

Participants have unlimited access to the virtual event space for about another two weeks, plus the ability to download any materials. All on-demand content is available at edist.ca.
