EnOcean emerges as lighting control wireless standard

November 4, 2009 | By

The EnOcean Alliance (www.enocean.com) was formed last year by a group of building-controls manufacturers to promote interoperable wireless sensor networks and at Lightfair 2009, 80% of wireless lighting controls were based on EnOcean.

More than 100,000 buildings worldwide are automated using EnOcean-based
controls, claims the alliance. The systems operate without wires or
batteries, and the controls regenerate power for radio communications
using ambient sources of energy, such as light, temperature and motion.
